Cegelec to deliver 4 wind farms, including the largest in France, by end of 2004

Paris, 16 November 2004

Cegelec, an integrated international group providing technological services to companies and local authorities, will deliver four new wind farms in France in the next few weeks, including the largest one in the country to date. With a total output of 69 megawatts, Cegelec will thus be providing almost half of the total wind power installed in France in 2004.

Cegelec was awarded the project management contract for the largest wind farm in France so far, at Haute- Lys in Pas- de- Calais, which is made up of 25 turbines generating a total output of 37.5 megawat ts. It has been constructed on behalf of Sechilienne- Sidec and will be commissioned in the next few weeks. Cegelec is also managing the construction of the wind farm at Mont joyer and Rochefort- en- Valdaine in the Drôme region, with 23 turbines generating 17.25 megawatts in total. Construction on this site, managed on behalf of two local operating companies, has just been completed.

Cegelec will also complete two other wind farms by the end of the year. At Ploumoguer in Finistère, Cegelec is the project manager and const ructor of a 7- turbine farm with a total output of 5.25 megawat ts. At Peyrelevade, in Corrèze, 6 turbines generating a total of 9 megawatts will be delivered, ready for use, by Cegelec this year.

Cegelec is a French leader in the project management of wind farms through its competence centre in Toulouse. Over the last ten years, Cegelec has developed expertise covering all the stages of a project including development assistance, engineering procurement construction, commissioning and maintenance.

This expertise is also exported outside France. In Morocco, Cegelec has just been associated in the development of the country’s first private wind farm. With a total output of 10 megawatts, this 12- turbine farm will provide half the electricity needs of the new Lafarge cement works in Tétouan in northern Morocco.
