Cegelec, an integrated international group providing technological services to companies, public and local authorities, has been awarded an additional contract to supply and install low- voltage systems and lighting for the Singapore’s new underground system. This contract, worth about € 17 million, covers 13 news stations and a 17 km long tunnel. In total, since 2001, Cegelec has been responsible for the electrical distribution and, in part , for the ventilation of nearly all the stations (24 out of 29) and the tunnels (28 km out of 33) which will make up the Singapore Circle Line.
Cegelec mainly has a presence in the fields of infrastructure, water treatment and maintenance in Singapore. Cegelec has also opened an integrated international procurement office in Singapore to enable the whole company to take advantage of the low costs offered by many suppliers in this region, and to provide economic monitoring over the development of the Asian market .
The Circle Line is an ambitious project of the Singapore authorities which, by 2010, should cover 33 km.
