French leader in the project management of wind farms with a market share close to 30%, Cegelec, an international integrated group providing technological services to companies and local authorities, recently signed several new « turnkey » contracts for wind power sites in France’s Massif central and Aude regions, including France’s future largest wind farm, for a total amount of 12 million euros.
Since the beginning of the year, Cegelec has been entrusted with the project management of seven wind farms representing 70 turbines and a total output of over 100 megawatts, representing a growth by 25% of France’s wind energy capacity.
After commissioning in 2004 the largest wind farm to date in France (Haute- Lys in Pas- de- Calais), Cegelec was awarded a « turnkey » contract for installation of the Plateau d’Ally wind power site in Haute Loire which, with a total installed capacity of 39 megawatts (26 x 1.5 MW turbines), will by the end of this year surpass the record so far held by the Pas-de-Calais farm (37,5 MW).
Cegelec will also be general contractor and responsible for the installation of a wind farm with a total output of 18 megawat ts (12 x 1.5 MW) on the Plateau de Cham de Challonge in Ardèche.
A third contract has been signed for Cegelec to be general contractor of a second wind farm In Fitou (Aude) with a total installed capacity of 10.4 megawatts (8 x 1.3 MW). Cegelec was already general contractor for the first farm, with a similar output, in 2002.
