A power plant in Martinique

Paris, February 10, 2005

Cegelec, an integrated international group providing technological services to companies and public authorities, has been contracted by Compagnie de Cogénération du Galion (CCG), a subsidiary of Séchilienne- Sidec, to build a 40 MW gas turbine power plant fuelled by domestic oil in Martinique.

The contract, worth over EUR 9 million, includes the co- ordination of all types of civil engineering work and the installation of mechanical and electrical equipment for related infrastructures.

The const ruction of the power plant, scheduled to enter into service at the beginning of 2006, will support the power needs of EDF’s local network. Cegelec, which already has a strong presence in French overseas territories, has been chosen for its ability to handle multidisciplinary large- scale projects in a short timeframe along with its extensive expertise in turbine technology.

Cegelec’s experience covers all stages of the life cycle of electrical energy, from power generation (wind farms, hydro- electrical and gas turbine power plants up to 50 MW), to transmission (HV substations, overhead and underground power lines) , distribution (public lighting and electrical installations for major indust rial and commercial sites) as well as maintenance of installations.

Within the wind energy sector, Cegelec, which provided half of the total wind power installed in France in 2004, has just completed a project for Séchilienne- Sidec (Air Liquide Group) which involved the construction of the Haute- Lys wind farm in northern France, the country’s largest wind facility to date.
