Cegelec to provide electrical infrastructure for a new hospital outside Paris

Press release

Cegelec to provide electrical infrastructure
for the new Lagny/Marne la Vallée hospital outside Paris

Paris, 11 December 2008

Cegelec, an international group providing technological services to companies and public authorities and a key technical installations contractor for the French hospital sector, has been chosen to provide the electrical infrastructure and fire protection system for the new Lagny-Marne la Vallée hospital in the eastern suburbs of Paris. The €18-million contract will be executed over the next three years.

The new 76,000-square-meter hospital complex will have a capacity of 585 beds and comprise a four-storey medical-surgery-obstetrics and psychiatry building and a two-storey logistics building housing utilities and support services. Cegelec will install all of the project's power and data wiring, as well as emergency lighting and fire protection systems.

With more than 120 sites ensuring a local presence throughout France, Cegelec is a major contractor in the hospital sector, with proven proficiency in all of the technical infrastructure necessary at a healthcare facility. Cegelec's teams have combined expertise in HVAC and electrical engineering, plumbing, medical fluids management, safety systems, communication technology, networks and building management.

Cegelec is involved in a number of projects initiated as part of the French government's hospital reform plans, including the recent upgrade of primary electrical equipment at the Hôpital Nord Marseille. The Group also provides multi-technical maintenance services to a number of French hospitals.
