Press Release
New control system for Société Ivoirienne de Raffinage
Paris, 27 April 2009
Cegelec, an international group providing technological services to companies and public authorities, has signed a turnkey contract with Société Ivoirienne de Raffinage (SIR) to design, procure, build and commission a new control system for SIR’s HSK3 hydroskimming unit. Work will begin this summer and involve up to 200 people on site during the largest phase of the project.
SIR, Ivory Coast’s largest industrial enterprise, is gradually upgrading since 2002 its production facilities with digital control systems. The system to be deployed by Cegelec at HSK3, combined with a programmable safety controller, will significantly improve the unit’s monitoring, safety and availability.
This €8 million contract comes on the heels of several other projects with SIR over the past few years. Cegelec carried out the design studies for the new centralised control room, built to withstand explosion (blast proof), and is currently installing new on-line analysers and analyser enclosures.
