Philippe Gastineau appointed President of Cegelec in Qatar

Paris, 7 July 2009

Effective 1 July, Philippe Gastineau was appointed President of Cegelec in Qatar. He is in charge of developing the Group’s activities in the country.

In this capacity, he will also be the coordinator between the Cegelec activities and the ones developed by its shareholder Qatari Diar, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Qatar Investment Authority, the sovereign fund of Qatar, in several countries in the Middle East and elsewhere in the world.

Cegelec is an international group providing technological services to companies and public authorities. The Group has been active in Qatar since 2003 with a staff of approximately 1,000 people.

 

Philippe Gastineau, 42, joined Cegelec in 2003 as Vice President in charge of the Group’s Infrastructure activity. He subsequently held other positions including Vice President of the International Department and of the Oil & Gas division before being responsible for the industrial and robotics maintenance, and non destructive testing, activities. Before joining Cegelec, he spent most of his professional career with Veolia Environment, for its Water and Energy business, in particular in the United Kingdom. Philippe Gastineau is a trained engineer from the French Ecole Centrale de Lyon and holds an MBA degree from the London Business School.
