Cegelec is currently executing an EPCC contract with Sonara (Société nationale de raffinage) in Cameroon to upgrade the management system and replace the instrumentation and control systems at the country’s sole refinery (most of the facility’s equipment dates from the late 1970s).
Cegelec is to replace the existing pneumatic technology which fits most of the refinery's 22 units by a digital control system and automated, programmable safety system required to ensure overall control and improve safety of the plant's installations.
All refinery's units will be piloted from a brand new blast-proof control room which Cegelec first designed in 2008, then supervised the building in 2009.
