Treating household waste

To help businesses and local communities deploy their sustainable development policies, waste management service providers turn to Cegelec for the skills and capabilities they need.

Cegelec’s ability to support sustainable development initiatives can be clearly seen in household waste incineration plants. Widely practiced in France and Germany, waste incineration must comply with very strict environmental regulations in order to protect health and the natural environment.

In addition to reducing waste volumes and destroying germs and other micro-organisms, incineration also generates energy to fuel the plant itself or supply power to electrical grids. A major activity for Cegelec in Germany the waste-to-energy conversion process reduces demand for fossil fuels while also providing a renewable energy source.

Recently, Cegelec has delivered solutions and equipment for the largest household waste incineration plants in France (near Lille) and in the Netherlands (Rijnmond).
