In Singapore, an amazing engineering feat, the 350-meter-wide barrage spans the Marina Channel with its nine 26,8-meter-long steel gates. In addition to its main function as a water resevoir, the Marina Barrage serves also as a flood control system and as a venue for recreational activities.
Cegelec was chosen to provide all of the electrical distribution infrastructure but also the fire protection systems, air conditioning, telephone and computer networks. Cegelec installed its SCADA system at the infrastructure's core to provide effective supervision.
In light of its size and the wide array of competencies it required, the Marina Barrage project is a shining example of Cegelec's extensive expertise.
