Véolia Environnement’s Moroccan subsidiaries awarded Cegelec a €9 million EPC contract for two wastewater pre-treatment plants and three wastewater pumping stations for the cities of Tetouan and Rabat, Morocco. The Rabat and Tetouan pre-treatment plants will be designed to handle peak flows of 4,880 litres/second and 2,330 litres/second, respectively. Biofiltration odour control systems will be installed at the Rabat facilities.
Cegelec won the contract on the strength of the synergies between its subsidiaries. The Cegelec West skills centre in France will carry out the preliminary design, FEED and process work behind the project, while Cegelec’s Moroccan subsidiary will be in charge of building the plants, installing the pumping, electrical and automation systems, supervising construction, and testing and commissioning the facilities.
