Cegelec in Guiana

With more than 350 employees, operating across the whole territory, the Cegelec Group is one of the key industrial players in Guiana.

A long-standing partner of Arianespace and CNES, Cegelec Space has 160 European staff in Kourou, most of whom are German, Belgian and French who  pool their know-how to ensure the success of the Ariane 5 launcher. At the Guiana Space Centre, Cegelec is in charge of the operation and maintenance of the fluid and mechanical systems of the launch complex and of the payload preparation systems (satellites), and is also responsible for the design and execution of the modification work for the site facilities. In addition, Cegelec designs and installs the fluid systems and the low current systems of the new launch pads for Soyuz and Vega.

Cegelec Guiana has recently won many contracts in the service sector, including the high current and low current electrical installations for the Remire college and the related photovoltaic plant, climate engineering systems (ventilation, air conditioning and extraction) for the vocational high school in Kourou, air conditioning and electrical installations for the psychiatric unit of the Hospital center of the western part of the territory.

Other references also include the MCO building at Cayenne hospital, the Kourou medical and surgical center, and the construction of public roads and utilities for several council houses.
