Thanks to its favourable geographic situation, in the heart of the Arabian Gulf and with a highly skilled workforce, Bahrain offers business opportunities for high-tech companies. With Cegelec, through its Comsip AL A’ALI subsidiary, it has created a joint venture which has been successful since 30 years. Since 1971, Comsip Al A’ALI has acquired a solid reputation for its expertise in the fields of electricity and instrumentation. Over the years, the company has reinforced its position by diversifying its activities in the commercial and industrial sectors.
Cegelec is the preferred partner of the country’s two largest enterprises. For BAPCO (Bahrain Petroleum Company), Cegelec carried out revamping and extension work of the Middle-East’s first refinery. For ALBA (Aluminium Bahrain) one of the largest single-site producers of aluminium in the world, Cegelec was involved in Pot Line 5 expansion programme and was awarded, between January and May 2004, almost all contracts for electricity and instrumentation work as part of the plant extension programme.
Comsip AL A’ALI capitalises on the expertise of its own teams and on the skills of the Cegelec group in France and in other parts of the world. Efforts geared toward sharing of resources together with the know-how of our Group have been initiated.
In April 1993, COMSIP AL A’ALI was the first company in Bahrain to be certified to ISO 9002 and in June 2003, the unit gained its certification ISO 9001:2000.
In December 2002 COMSIP AL A’ALI opened an office in Doha, Qatar, in order to strengthen its position in the Gulf. This office has already successfully completed several projects.
COMSIP AL A’ALI will continue to export its know-how to other Gulf countries, including Oman and Kuwait.
