Cegelec started its business in Nigeria already more than 20 years ago, working with Julius Berger Nigeria, an associated company of the Bilfinger Berger AG Germany. All the projects to which Cegelec has broadly contributed within the framework of the utility-development of the new capital ABUJA: electrification and lighting of the town and the ring-roads, electrical infrastructure at the international airport, the conference centre and other great public undertakings.
The project management, engineering and procurement was performed by the CGB-S team located in Frankfurt. The installation works were done by the local teams.
Because of their recognised expertise in electrical infrastructure solutions, the same Cegelec teams have also contributed towards international projects such as the water treatment plant in Ankara (Turkey), the power stations at Jakhira (Libya) and Sriracha (Thailand), the Sunflower Tower and the German school in Bejiing (China) and further projects in Mexico, Panama and ...
Cegelec Nigeria has also provided global services in telecoms there: Globacom/Alcatel entrusted to Cegelec the complete installation of the GSM sites in Abuja, Ibadan and Port Harcourt, etc.
