Cegelec has been present in Angola since 2001, when we were awarded the maintenance contract for Total E&P Angola’s Girassol FPSO (Floating Production, Storage and Offloading vessel)

Over the years, we have expanded our operations in and beyond the oil and gas market, where we respond to calls for tenders issued by international oil operators. Our activities now also encompass electrical equipment and instrumentation contracts and mechanical engineering projects.

Our Angolan subsidiary has nearly 200 employees, of whom 70% are Angolan nationals. Its administrative and business offices are located in the centre of the capital, Luanda.

In early 2011, Cegelec Angola expanded south of Luanda with an independent logistics and technical base with an up-to-date 600-square-metre shop. The base prepares and maintains offshore and onshore equipment and performs onsite repairs of mechanical and electrical equipment and instrumentation.

In collaboration with the Angolan government and international oil companies, we are striving to make the workforce local. Competencies must be transferred so that Angola can fully manage its development projects.

Accordingly, Cegelec Angola is investing in training. We offer OPITO-standard classroom and hands-on training for oil and gas jobs to up to 180 people at the centre that we opened with a local partner in Luanda in 2011.
