Active in Qatar for the last twenty years, Cegelec is present in this country since 2003 through a local subsidiary: Comsip AL A’ALI. The Qatari office employs a staff of about 1,000 employees and has successfully evolved from a company highly qualified in electrical and instrumentation construction to a multidisciplinary one, providing a comprehensive range of customised solutions and services to a wide range of clients in the industry, in infrastructures and the building sector.

Cegelec has been recently entrusted with several new, major projects for the oil & gas industry. The Group is, for instance, responsible for the electrical, instrumentation and telecom works (EPC contract) for a 38 tank farm on the Pearl Shell GTL C3 project on behalf of CB&I. For QAPCO and its petrochemical complex in Mesaieed, Cegelec has been awarded an engineering contract to design the new blast proof control room as part of its consolidation project.

At the Ras Laffan ethylene plant, Cegelec has been entrusted by RLOC/Technip with another EPC contract for the integration of its analyser systems. In addition to regular electrical and instrumentation construction works, Cegelec also provides technical assistance and concludes commissioning contracts, such as for the Qatar Petroleum Common Cooling Water plant phase II at Ras Laffan.

Cegelec is also a major player in the provision of large infrastructures in the region. A good example is the runway lighting for the new Doha international airport based on the most demanding standards.

In the energy sector, Cegelec has been entrusted with significant electrical and instrumentation (E&I) works of two major combined cycles, the 1,000 MW Ras Laffan Power Plant B for Qatar Power and the on-going project of 2,000 MW combined cycle Mesaieed A for Kahramaa.
